Educational Objectives
Whether one is considering a degree program for a career change, professional advancement, the joy of learning or validation of achievement, International University of Professional Studies can accommodate individual educational goals while allowing for the continuance of personal, family and occupational lifestyles.
Our learning philosophy is based on the premise that what a person knows is more important than where and how that knowledge was obtained. The emphasis is not on classroom attendance, but on the competence, knowledge and skills worthy of receiving a degree.
Our education program is a "university without walls" concept in which the student, in consultation with faculty mentors helps to design a degree program customized to the student's unique interests and needs within the foundational framework of the University's advanced coursework.
It is now possible to have group conferences, student advisement, access to worldwide libraries and networks, guest faculty presentations and discussions, etc., wherever the student may be located on the globe.
The Academic Study Plan represents a learning contract which meets both the needs of the learner and the standards of the University. The plan, at all degree levels, includes academic study, research projects, and credit for degree related experiences.
International University of Professional Studies is designed primarily for the adult learner who is mature, highly motivated, self-disciplined and an independent thinker. Most students bring a wealth of experience and knowledge gained through work, training, reading and independent study. Regardless of background, the learner needs to possess clear educational goals and a capacity for guided independent study.
The primary goal of our program is to produce competent professionals rooted in deep self-awareness, sensitive to multi-cultural and global issues, and committed to serving humanity.
