Professional Coaching & Human Development
Students and professionals who select our new Professional Coaching & Human Development doctoral program will be on the cutting edge as the profession of coaching moves to university degree status, and will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best known pioneers of this evolving field. Designed with the busy professional in mind, our program provides a great deal of flexibility in training opportunities, one-on-one mentoring, and distance learning. Those who earn their Ph.D. in our Professional Coaching & Human Development program will not only prepare themselves to become the finest of coaches, but will gain a competitive advantage as this burgeoning field continues to grow.
Students enrolling to earn a Ph.D. in Professional Coaching & Human Development are required to take courses totaling 90 credits (50 credits in required core courses and 40 credits in electives), while students going for a combined M.A./Ph.D. degree are required to take courses totaling 120 credits (50 credits in required core courses and 70 credits in electives). Of course, one of the great advantages of International University of Professional Studies is that prior professional work experience and educational training may be credited toward your requirements, thus reducing the time it will take to earn your degree, as well as your basic tuition costs.
Required courses and electives may be fulfilled in a number of ways, including taking courses at other universities and training programs featuring psychology or coaching curriculum. Students may also request university approval of relevant elective courses of their own design and focus. Using a sample syllabus, students have the opportunity to demonstrate what they will learn and how they will acquire the appropriate knowledge. This allows the student incredible flexibility in receiving an education customized to their educational interests. Click on these links to see the course curriculum and read the course descriptions.
