About Accreditation
INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES (IUPS) IS NOT ACCREDITED BY AN ACCREDITING AGENCY RECOGNIZED BY THE UNITED STATES SECRETARY OF EDUCATION.
Note: In the United States, many licensing authorities require accredited degrees as the basis for eligibility for licensing. In some cases, accredited colleges may not accept for transfer courses and degrees completed at unaccredited colleges, and some employers may require an accredited degree as a basis for eligibility for employment
IUPS has not applied for accreditation even though we consider the possiblity every year. In the United States, accreditation is a voluntary process. Many high quality universities have chosen not to be accredited. Accreditation would be limiting for IUPS, because our programs and methods of delivery are innovative and accreditation agencies may not be equipped to evaluate them.
If IUPS were accredited, we would not be able to fulfill our mission, offering affordable tuition, flexible curricula, and credit for previous work. The high academic standards of IUPS are comparable with those of fully accredited universities; however, we offer a great deal more flexibility to the students we serve: customized, self-paced and mentor-based study plans for each student.
Admission to International University of Professional Studies (IUPS) and any of its sponsored programs is open to qualified individuals regardless of race, color, nationality, ethnic origin, gender, and educationally unrelated handicaps.
